It's that time of year again where the weather is cooling down and the evenings are drawing in. What better way to spend a cozy night than by telling a bedtime story?  

There are a lot of great bedtime stories out there for kids! Here are just a few of our favorites:

2. The Velveteen Rabbit – Another classic, although this is not as well known, this story by Margery Williams is about a stuffed rabbit who becomes real through the power of love.

4. The Cat in the Hat – Dr. Seuss’s beloved book is perfect for kids who like a little bit of mischief before bedtime!

One way to come up with bedtime stories is to think of classic stories that have been told for years, these stories can be modified to be more interesting for children. 

Another way to come up with bedtime stories is to make up your own stories that are completely original. This can be done by thinking of interesting characters and settings, taking inspiration from real friends, family and places can help a lot when coming up with these stories. Once you have come up with a story, it is important to tell it in an interesting and engaging way to keep your child entertained.

The witch plans to eat them, but they are able to escape. These are just a few of the many horror stories that children enjoy.

If you would rather add your own spin on a horror story for your child here are some tips to creating a great one:

Make sure the story is age appropriate. If it is too graphic or disturbing, it will only scare and upset the child. 
Focus on creating suspense and atmosphere rather than overtly terrifying scenes. 
Use scary characters and settings to enhance the story.
Have a twist ending that is both surprising and satisfying.
